(DYERSBURG, Tenn., Aug. 28)—Sophomore quarterback Austin Fisher (Washington, Ill./Washington) threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to sophomore wide receiver Nick Jones (Murphysboro, Ill./Murphysboro) with just 17 seconds remaining to lift the McKendree University football team past the University of the Cumberlands Saturday evening at the Big River Bowl in Dyersburg, Tenn,, 34-27.

(LEBANON, Ill., Aug. 27)—The McKendree University football team is set to kick off its 2010 season Saturday at the Big River Bowl in Dyersburg, Tenn., against the University of the Cumberlands. Kickoff for the contest is set for 6 p.m. at J.C. Sawyers Stadium. The game will be carried live on the Bearcat Sports Network at www.mckbearcats.com.

(LEBANON, Ill., August 10)—The McKendree University football team earned the No. 8 spot in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) pre-season poll released late Monday afternoon. The poll consists of voters representing each NAIA football-affiliated conference across the nation.
